Bel Air is an estate in the suburbs of Chartres, France. In 2008 the walls of the four blocks of flats situated at the heart of the estate were painted with the aim of reinstating a positive image of Bel Air and a sense of pride in what had become an unattractive part of the city to live. This project reveals the actuality of life for some families behind the walls of Bel Air, showing the contrast between the facade and the reality.
